Kimbo Slice to K-1, Possibly to Fight Badr Hari in Kickboxing Bout

This comes from Japanese MMA Blog Omasuki Fight, which was translated over at Bloody Elbow.

Japanese tabloid Tokyo Sports reported that Kimbo Slice will be making appearance at Dec 6 K-1 show in Yokohama Japan to say hi to Japanese fans, K-1 Event Producer Tanigawa confirmed. His K-1 debut match will be in March, vs. current K-1 heavyweight champ, Badr Hari.

K-1 is basically kickboxing without elbow and muay thai clinch. Good for Kimbo not have to worry about ground game.

OK let me get this straight, Kimbo will be signed by K-1 to fight in March and be subsequently destroyed by one of the greatest kickboxers walking the planet. If this is true, maybe Kimbo hasn't done any research on Hari, because he stands ZERO chance of beating Hari in a kickboxing bout. Of course we would even get to see this massacre on HDNET now, more power to him, but if I were his manager I would try to put him in a match where he would at least stand a chance. Bob Sapp, anyone?

Bad move Kimbo.

First round KO. 5-6 low kicks then a stumbling Slice will have his jaw broken by a right headkick.

This would be SO ugly. I'd honestly be afraid for Kimbo's life.

well sapp would kill kimbo easily too!

Badr Hari by spinning-heel kick KO.

reallllly bad move.. first badr hari is a bad mofo, reeeeeaaaaaallllyyy bad mofo, the kid is right there in level with guys like remmy, shilts and hearts.. secondly, kickboxing is alot more techinal than mma. in kickboxing you cant bring your opponent to the ground and use pure size and muscle to win, no! you have to be as good as he is in striking to even become competitive, and kimbo is everything but technical. This is going to be a desaster for kimbo, or a even bigger disaster for badr if he gets caught by a power punch right on the button. but its very unlikely kimbo will even pass the 3rd.

I have just 3 words for Kimbo and his management:

RE - TAR - DEAD

PS To the Anonymous dumbass that even contemplated Kimbo getting in a powerpunch on Hari...not sure if you're aware that Hair will be able to KICK during this fight...Kimbo may not get within 3.5 feet of Hari this entire fight! (which may only be a half of a round)

Kimbo, I hope you like the idea of a mule kicking you just above the knee repeatedly and the to the head...should be a good time for ya. Probably won't be able to walk the next day. Just an FYI.

unlikely for kimbo to make it to the 3rd? i think you're giving him too much credit. the guy would be lucky to make it to the third with most lightweights, i think he'll be extremely lucky to make it out of the first with badr

You guys are so full of it. Kimbo is clearly not the monster he was billed as, however he's a badass. Not being able to go to the ground is going to aid Kimbo. Yeah, I know, he got knocked out...so what...so has every professional fighter over 200 lbs. As the one poster said, even if you think Kimbo is bad, he can still get lucky. The truth is that he was never as good as he was billed and he's no where near as bad as he's being made out now. Just guessing, but Kimbo wins this early. Kimbo won't let this get technical and gets an early KO.

It's hard for me to see this going past the first round. KO by Hari. Kimbo is a powerful guy, but he's not ready for the big time - high profile fights. He needs to train hard, and get some experience out side of the limelight. If Kimbo KO's Hari it will be a big up set, but not really teach Kimbo. Kimbo has a lot of potential, and hopefully he won't be come Bob Sapp. Bas! Bas! Bas! Help Kimbo! Don't let him get scalped by that arrogant douche Hari.

everybody makes it seem like Kim-biatch is the hardest puncher in the world because he knocked out a bunch of overweight homos on the street. Look at kimbos mma fights only knockout was to a worn out tank. Badr is the Heavyweight Champ in an organization dedicated to punching and kicking hard. Kimbo is slow, and out classed. I would bet Badr Can out punch Kimbo anytime. oh im sorry i mean Kim-biatch

Rumor has it that coal akida tried to get Kimbo Slice to endorse his Fear No Punch technology, This guy is everywhere claiming he can not get hit, I recently saw this guy training in colorado his skills are off the chart. Kimbo could use some defense, and this trainer is amazing,

Coal akida states on his blog that he offered to train KIMBO SLICE his fear no punch technology and that KIMBO agent wanted to coal to pay $25,000 for training him, what the HELL.

I just got the Fearnopunch DVD by Coal Akida and now I understand why he was trying to get a professional fighter to endorse him. WOW I am blown away, this guy has training methods like I have never seen before. Anyone get past part 1 of the training cycle. When he said zero fear he was not kidding.

I just the got the DVD also and it takes watching all 6 hours to get a grasp of the terms used, The bottom line is coal akida offers a set of defensive skills that fighters just do not have and made an entire fight system out of it.
