We all know that the main reason Fedor Emelianenko didn't sign with the UFC is that Zuffa, and Dana White wouldn't let him compete in Russian Sambo. Now this is something that he has done for years and has a deep passion for. Anyways I'll save my opinion of that for another time, here's a snippet of the story.
Fedor Emelianenko (Pictures) won the open-weight division of the 31st Combat Sambo World Championship on Nov. 10 in Prague. With the win, the 31-year-old Russian, widely regarded as the No. 1 heavyweight fighter in the world, defended the title he won two years ago in the Czech Republic capital.

Fedor is so far above the competition of Russian Sambo, probably even more so than mixed martial arts. Make sure you check my VIDEOS SITE in the coming weeks, I'll see if I can get a video of this.

It's too bad though, he only fought once to win the title since his other two matches didn't even show up.
"Fedor Emelianenko won the open-weight division of the 31st Combat Sambo World Championship on Saturday, November 10th in Prague, Czech Republic. The win allowed the 31-year-old Russian, widely regarded as the #1 heavyweight MMA fighter in the world, to defend the title he won two years ago in the Czech Republic capital.
To do so, he had to step on the mat only once. The 220-plus-pound representative from Uzbekistan did not show in Prague, thus giving Fedor a bye to the semi-finals. There he quickly took out a Bulgarian fighter via choke to set up a meeting with a Ukrainian competitor in the finals.
Much to Fedor's chagrin, the Ukrainian fighter, who had defeated UFC and Bodog veteran Kristof Midoux in the other semi-final, did not turn up either. This handed Fedor the victory."
